Before training as a dancer, Anthony competed as an international level Acrobatic Gymnast, competing as a member of the British Gymnastics squad.
Following his graduation from ‘Northern School of Contemporary Dance’ (Leeds) in 2010, Anthony began his professional career dancing as a member of ‘BalletBoyz’, until joining ‘Motionhouse’, touring ‘Scattered’ in the USA and China. Anthony has also worked as a freelance performer with international companies and choreographers such as Tanz Luzerner Theater (Switzerland), Cas Public/ Helene Blackburn (Canada) and Luca Signoretti (Italy).
In 2012, Anthony began researching and creating work under the name of 'theMiddletonCorpus', combining the physical disciplines of Acrobatic Gymnastics and Contemporary Dance, along with influences from his interests in Japanese aesthetic principles, sculpture and philosophy.
Anthony is particularly interested in creating collaborative multi-disciplinary performance for both theatrical and unconventional performance spaces, collaborating with both UK and International artists in various disciplines, such as composers, designers and visual artists; bringing exciting and innovative artistic projects to audiences both in the UK and internationally.
His work has been performed at various UK and International festivals, platforms, competitions; 'Seedling', Anthony's most recent creation winning the 'Audience Prize' at the 2017 'Hull Dance Prize'.
theMiddletonCorpus, is the body of work created by award-winning artist 'Anthony Middleton'. Anthony is currently based in Bradford/Leeds, resident artist at 'Kala Sangam' (Bradford). Anthony aims to create engaging and imaginative small & mid-scale performances, suitable for wide-ranging audiences.
Inspired by nature and natural phenomenon, Anthony’s work is built using these natural stimulus and imagery to explore metaphors about human existence and social ideas.

Working with his unique vision, aesthetic and language, Anthony creates with a seamless combination of acrobatics and dance, weaving exciting and mesmerising physicality with subtly quality and a sensitivity that can connect with imagination and emotions of widely varying audiences.
Anthony aims to continue building his work for theMiddletonCorpus, and touring this work both nationally and internationally, to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
